Thousands of cookies for lonely elderly

At Het Wasven in the Tongelre district, customers can help lonely elderly people by buying a pack of cookies. The action is an initiative of Samen voor Eindhoven.

Anyone who buys two packs of heart cookies at the Het Wasven store will also immediately donate three packs to lonely seniors.

The idea of the action is to encourage the elderly in the region during this corona period. Many elderly people have few social contacts, as it poses dangers and visiting is difficult because of the measures in force.

The 10,000 cookies were made by people from the day care program at Het Wasven. The baked goods are delivered to the door of the elderly by members of senior citizens' association KBO. Employees of ASML and Dela are also involved in the action, through the network of Samen van Eindhoven.
