Money Guide Day offers tax return support

Everyone files tax returns every year. And even though this chore comes back every year, many people still find it difficult. That is why Partnerfonds Brainport Eindhoven is organizing the 'Money Guide Day' on Saturday, March 11, at Springplank, Paradijslaan 20. On this day you, as a resident of Eindhoven, can get free support in filling out your tax return.

If you live in the Netherlands, you have to file an income tax return. To assist you, the tax authorities do some preliminary work by automatically filling in information for you. But do you actually check whether this information is correct? Or do you just click 'yes' to get rid of it as quickly as possible? In short: do you get enough out of your tax return or are you unwittingly losing money? Because that would be a shame, Partnerfonds Brainport Eindhoven is organizing the 'Money Guide Day'. "On Saturday, March 11, we are ready to help you," it is called. The help consists of volunteers from SOFiR; the platform in which volunteers from the NOB (the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers), NVAB (Dutch Association of Lawyers Tax Experts) and RB (Register Tax Advisers) have united. They deal with taxes/money matters on a daily basis and can therefore help you like no other.

A few things that can go a long way toward helping you get started can make a tax return a lot easier. This is nice not only for yourself, but also for the people who want to help you file your tax return. Consider, for example:

- DigiD credentials.

- Passport or identity card.

- Annual statements (work, income and benefits).

- Summary of other income (alimony, volunteer work)In the case of alimony: information from alimony provider or alimony recipient.

- If you have an owner-occupied home: last year's WOZ assessment.

- Summary of mortgage interest and fees paid.

- Bank information (bank accounts and savings accounts).

- List of specific healthcare expenses that are not reimbursed.

- Last year's tax return, if in possession.

- Summary of expenses study/training.

- Survey of charitable donations.

The Money Guide Day is part of The Money Guide Weeks, which they started earlier. "Residents of Eindhoven can make use of various financial schemes. Unfortunately, not all residents know this. As a result, these remain on the shelf and that is a shame, especially in these times with the high energy prices. To help residents of Eindhoven apply for the energy allowance, among other things, and to relieve social organizations, Ergon, Gemeente Eindhoven, the Social Counselors of Lumens, Werkplaats Financiën, WIJeindhoven, Samen voor Eindhoven and the Partnerfonds #Brainport Eindhoven are working together." Company volunteers (Money Guides) are on hand during the walk-in hours to support Eindhoven residents in applying for the schemes.

The Springboard is committed to serving people with a variety of assistance needs, not just those who could use an extra helping hand with tax returns. "We don't talk about clients, we talk about candidates. We believe in people's own strengths and in a route tailored to the candidate."

The Money Guide Day will be held on Saturday, March 11, at Springplank at Paradijslaan 20 in Eindhoven. Visitors are welcome from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for help and advice. It is a walk-in hour, so appointment in advance is not necessary.
