All of Eindhoven winterproof

People who live in crisis situations have a hard time in the winter, especially now. Unfortunately, more and more people in the Netherlands live below the poverty line. With the fundraising campaign 'give a coat and warm a heart', the power of Brainport Eindhoven is visible again: together we help those who need it. From 12 to 28 October 2020 we collected warm coats for people in need. men's, women's or children's coats At various locations in Eindhoven we collected warm jackets and coats for people who desperately need them. Young refugees, homeless people, people living in poverty for whom buying a warm winter coat is not self-evident. Poignant in our Brainport region where things seem to be going so well, but unfortunately there is also #poverty. Last year, almost 2,000 coats were handed in; Theo Maassen also gave two of his warm coats to the homeless and we received beautiful players' coats from PSV, which were also well received. This year, none other than Willy van de Kerkhof handed in not only his beautiful jacket, but also one from his twin brother René and from his son-in-law André Nooijer. On 29 October 2020, we handed out 2,000 coats to local foundations. And another 6,000 pieces of warm clothing like hats, scarves, jumpers and trousers.

Collection points

Seven companies from our involved network were collection points in 2020: ASML, DAF, Eindhoven Airport, High Tech Campus Eindhoven, Holland Casino, Stichting Geluk Zaaien and Woonbedrijf.

Three collection points were publicly accessible:

• High Tech Campus Eindhoven (High Tech Campus 1, near The Colour Kitchen restaurant outside at The Strip)
• Holland Casino Eindhoven (Heuvel Gallery 134 (at the market), Eindhoven)
• Stichting Geluk Zaaien / Buutvrij for the whole pot (Heuveleindseweg 6c, Best).

Which garments are needed?

The focus, again for 2021, is on warm jacketsgood quality and clean. Worn, pre-loved, is of course fine. There are also a number of other garments that will keep you - if you live on the street - dry:

• Warm Jackets (for men, women and children)
• Hats, gloves and scarves (for men, women and children)
• Rainwear (especially for men)
• Sweaters/vests/jeans (for men)
