The annual Karoesell Vintage Money Event gives backing to social initiatives that make Brainport Eindhoven more beautiful.
In 2020, the Karoesell Vintage Money Event will take place on Monday, April 6.On March 11, 2019, 'Karoesell Vintage Money' took place again. An éxtra financial impulse for foundations in Eindhoven, Eersel and Best to do even more for people, animals or the environment.
Karoesell, the thrift store on Edisonstraat in Eindhoven, aims to annually return revenues to the society in and around Eindhoven. Stichting Karoesell Eindhoven organizes the Vintage Money event in cooperation with Samen voor Eindhoven.
12 Charities from Best, Eersel and Eindhoven received an amount of money from thrift store Karoesell. On average about €1,000 per charity which they spend on resources and materials. In order to do even more for refugees, the elderly, the disabled, people living in poverty or the environment. For example, Vicky, super-volunteer at De Zonnebloem Jongeren Eindhoven, received a check that makes it possible to go to the beach for a day with these young people (with physical disabilities)! In return, the team from Karoesell was invited to dine with the youngsters from De Zonnebloem. And the Stadsakkers spends the check for the purchase of a new tractor, and in return Karoesell received a crate full of fresh vegetables, of course from the Stadsakkers! The presentation of all the checks took place at thrift store Karoesell.
Presentation of checks to charities
'Getting money from a thrift store, that sounds strange. But we believe that our income from revenue, last year it was €15,000, should return to our local society. For many foundations and associations, in addition to the need for knowledge and manpower, financial support is also needed for material resources, for example. For example, clothing exchange studio Awesome, where people on a small budget buy or exchange clothes, exchanges the check for a modern cash register. And the Huiskamer in Eindhoven, where every week about 70 young refugees practice their Dutch, learn a trade and cook together, are buying a volleyball net to be placed on the lawn at the Victoriapark in the city center. A society for everyone, that is our profit," said Dirk Delissen, Karoesell director.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Samen voor Eindhoven mobilizes employees of ASML, DAF, NXP and Rabobank, among others, to use their hands or knowledge, during working hours, for the many social organizations in Eindhoven and organizes events where business and society meet. At these matchmaking events, money is taboo. Esther Hofstede, director Samen voor Eindhoven: "Given our large network and knowledge of the wishes of many social organizations in the city, we are happy to cooperate with this socially involved match event of thrift store Karoesell. Besides volunteers, we see that many social organizations are in need of financial support. Buurtboerderij Eersel can use the contribution to construct a path for wheelchair users'.
