Pro Bono Communication also successful online

Pro Bono means using your professional skills for one working day to solve a (communication) problem of a social organisation.

For marcom professionals:

Ever thought that with your marketing & communication knowledge and skills, you could make a lasting impact on a non-profit organisation in the Brainport region in one day? And that you can boost not only the social foundation, but also your own job satisfaction and perhaps that of your company/department? During the Pro Bono day, you combine inspired work with giving something back to society. Together with a couple of teams of marcom professionals, you will spend one day working out social communication issues for foundations in Eindhoven. After the Pro Bono day, the social organisation can actually get to work with the plans, ideas and so on.

Pro bono means using your professional skills for a communication issue of a civil society organisation for one working day. Pro bono is an important instrument for social innovation because it offers social organisations and foundations essential skills they often lack. In short: the best communication event of the year, full of learning moments, meaning and cooperation.

Michal Reutelingsperger, independent marketing and communications specialist and 2020 volunteer leader for Eindhoven Vitaal:

"I participated for several reasons. First of all, it is fantastic to take up an issue together with other professionals and to work it out in a short space of time. Secondly, I think it's great to be able to use your expertise, your work, for someone else, especially because I really enjoy my work. And last but not least, the most important reason to help a foundation with something they don't understand or have a budget for is to know that the ultimate goal is to help someone in Eindhoven. Especially in these times it is important that we help each other. We should all do that a bit more. Fortunately, I was now able to do something with 'Samen voor Eindhoven' (Together for Eindhoven). Nice! Thank you for your inspiration".

For civil society organisations:

What an opportunity for your non-profit organisation: one day you work together with a team of driven marketing and communication professionals. They will gladly put their knowledge (and heart) into action for society and your foundation or social organisation. The experience after a number of editions of Pro Bono shows that you really get something out of it in practice. Previous editions, for example, have treated the Voedselbank to a creative recruitment campaign, the Huiskamer voor vluchtelingen to a completely new look and feel for their website and Speelpark de Splinter to an elaborate anti-smoking campaign. Do you want knowledge, ideas and help with your branding, strategy, positioning or website? Join us on this unique day in 2021.

Daan van der Vleuten of PsySalon (= organising information and meeting events to make taboo subjects surrounding mental health care accessible for discussion) about the Pro Bono Communication Day 2020:

"After weeks of contact with Samen voor Eindhoven, the time has come on 6 November 2020. A team of more than 10 communication professionals will jointly tackle the communication issue of the Psysalon Oirschot. We, the organisers of the Psysalon, have high expectations. The volunteerleaders (teamleaders) and Samen voor Eindhoven (organisation) were involved in the concretisation of the communication issue. Because of the corona measures, the Pro Bono Day had to take place entirely digitally. So many different communication professionals from different disciplines who immediately set to work as a team under the leadership of the team leaders is a special experience. The result had to be a good answer to our communication problem... and it was. I was impressed, I am quiet about what the professionals delivered for PsySalon in one day. Thank you for that!"
