Development is very important to a person. You want to engage in activities to make your life more enjoyable. Learning, working and getting out and about. For many, these activities are taken for granted, but not for Dichterbij Foundation clients. To contribute to the well-being of the Dichterbij Foundation's residents, colleagues from De Meeuw spent a day doing odd jobs on location in Sint-Oedenrode.
On Wednesday morning, ten employees of De Meeuw gathered at the Dichterbij Foundation in Sint-Oedenrode. On the program were various activities. After a pleasant reception with coffee and cake, the tasks were divided. There were some great jobs waiting, so no time to waste.
Bernie Toonen is Service Coordinator at Stichting Dichterbij: "We are really super grateful to Samen voor Eindhoven and De Meeuw. Foundations like ours don't have it easy as it is. When a company then offers to make employees available for a job day, that's really fantastic! Together we were able to make it a wonderful day. We wallpapered and painted two rooms, took down a trampoline, placed a swing, tidied up the garden and painted an outside wall white. To then be able to end the day with French fries for volunteers and residents really gives a very fulfilled feeling."
A beautiful experience
"I like the fact that De Meeuw offers us the opportunity to be active volunteers one day a year. This way we support Stichting Dichterbij and get more involved in our neighborhood," said Alwies Rokven (Assembly Employee De Meeuw). "For me it is extra special to be able to work here, my niece lives in this home. I am happy to be able to give something back to the Dichterbij Foundation this way".

Tijs Meewis (HR Manager De Meeuw): "We think it is important that employees of De Meeuw get the chance to use their talents for a good cause or foundation such as Dichterbij. Fortunately, we employ many handy people, to then contribute our bit in this way just feels right!"
